Want to take your floorball to the next level?
Floorball New Zealand invites all eligible male players to register their interest in the Men's U19 Development Weekends. Whether your goal is to represent New Zealand or simply become a better player, these weekends are a great opportunity to learn new skills, challenge yourself and train with other motivated players.
The Men's U19 World Floorball Championships are scheduled for February 2028. New Zealand has been advised that the team must first compete in a qualification tournament in September/October 2027 to earn a place at the World Championships. The host country for the AOFC Qualification tournament has not yet been confirmed.
To help prepare players for this challenge, we are running several development weekends, followed by a final trial weekend to select the national team.
You don't have to be aiming for the national team to take part. All eligible players are welcome, and everyone can benefit from the coaching, training and experience.
Ready to get involved? Submit your Expression of Interest to let us know you'd like to attend.
Who can attend?
The development weekends are open to all male players born between 1 January 2009 and 30 April 2013 who want to improve their floorball skills.
You are encouraged to attend the full weekend.
If you cannot attend both days, you can register for just one day.
You are welcome to attend even if you are not planning to trial for the national team.
Who can represent New Zealand?
To be eligible to represent New Zealand, players must meet the relevant age requirements and satisfy the applicable international eligibility rules.
Eligibility may be established through a parent or grandparent who was born in New Zealand, or through long-term residency, which requires at least five years of residence in New Zealand. All eligibility is subject to the applicable international regulations.
You do not need a New Zealand passport to represent New Zealand.
Unable to attend the trials in person?
If you wish to be considered for the national team but are unable to attend the trial weekend in person, please contact Anna Kibblewhite as soon as possible to discuss your circumstances and possible alternative arrangements.
Players unable to attend trials in person will be expected to provide video footage of themselves playing, to assist the selection team in assessing their skills and suitability for the squad.
