Floorball is fast, fun, and for everyone.

Whether you're a first-timer or returning player, there's a place for you on the court. Played indoors with lightweight sticks and a perforated plastic ball, floorball is a safe and accessible team sport that promotes fitness, teamwork, and community.

  • Floorball New Zealand maintains a national directory of registered floorball clubs across the country. These clubs offer structured environments to train, compete, and connect with others who love the sport.

    Social leagues across New Zealand welcome players of all backgrounds in a relaxed, non-intimidating environment.

    Social leagues are available in:

  • All players, coaches, and officials must adhere to:

    • The Official Rules of the Game (IFF)

    • Floorball NZ's Code of Conduct

    • Youth and social league modifications

    • Anti-doping, anti-bullying, and safe play policies

    Breaches may result in sanctions or suspension from competitions.

    • Stick: Lightweight, carbon or composite (max 114 cm)

    • Ball: Plastic, 72 mm diameter, 26 holes (standardised globally)

    • Attire: Shorts, tee-shirts or sports top, non-marking indoor shoes

    • Optional: Shin guards, eyewear (recommended for youth)

    Most club have their own sets of goalie gear for players keen to explore this position.
