Getting started
-
Floorball is a stick-and-ball indoor sport, similar to hockey but safer and faster-paced.
Rules are simple — no body contact, light equipment, and a focus on skill and speed.
-
You will need the below equipment:
Lightweight floorball sticks (plastic blade and carbon shaft)
Floorball (plastic ball with holes)
Goals (small and portable options available)
Cones or markers for training drills
Bibs for at least 2 teams
You will need the below space:
A school gym, indoor court, or even a smooth outdoor surface works well.
Mark out a playing area (approx. 20m x 10m for smaller games or a space that works out to the ratio of 2:1).
-
Start with fun skill-building drills: passing, shooting, and stick control.
Play small-sided games (3v3 or 4v4) to keep everyone involved.
-
Offer lunchtime or after-school sessions.
Create friendly challenges or mini-tournaments.
