Expressions of interest now open for Women’s development weekends

We are seeking expressions of interest from players who wish to attend a series of women’s development weekends in preparation for the anticipated AOFC Qualification tournament in November 2026.

We have been advised by International Floorball Federation (IFF) that the New Zealand Women’s National Team will be required to compete in a qualification round to gain entry to the Women’s World Floorball Championships in November 2027.

We have three upcoming weekends planned for development training, culminating in a final trials weekend.

All interested players are encouraged to attend. Players who are not intending to trial for national team selection are still welcome, as these development weekends will provide valuable coaching and learning opportunities.

Please note that Floorball New Zealand also intends to field a women’s team at the upcoming Canterbury Floorball Open to further support player development. Please indicate on the registration if you want to be considered for this development team. Selection in this development team does not constitute automatic selection to the National Women’s Team. All players wishing to be considered for national selection are required to attend the trial weekend on 27–28 June.

Players who want to be considered for the national team are strongly encouraged to attend the trials weekend. However, if you are unable to attend but would still like to be considered for selection to the New Zealand Women’s National Team, please email National Teams Manager Anna Kibblewhite and Head Coach Jon To as soon as possible. They will provide further guidance on the process and information required for selection consideration.
