Men’s National Training Squad named for WFCQ 2026

We are pleased to announce the Men’s National Team Training Squad selected in preparation for the 2026 World Floorball Championships AOFC Qualification Tournament, to be held in Wellington, New Zealand in January 2026.

Following a comprehensive trial and selection process, the coaching team—supported by an independent selector appointed by Floorball NZ—has named a training squad of 4 goalkeepers and 25 field players. These athletes will continue to train and develop as a unit in the lead-up to the tournament.

This is a training squad only. The final tournament team that will represent New Zealand at the WFCQ will be confirmed and announced later in 2025.

The selected group reflects a strong and promising mix of experienced national representatives and emerging young talent. The high level of competition for places highlights the ongoing development of floorball in New Zealand and the growing depth of skill across the country.

“The coaching team is excited about the quality of players in this training squad,” said Head Coach Christian Bertschinger. “We believe the group offers a strong foundation as we prepare to compete on home soil.”

We would also like to thank all athletes who took part in the trials. While not all could be selected on this occasion, the coaches encourage those who missed out to continue to focus on their personal development as there will be further opportunities to represent New Zealand in the future.

The full list of selected players is available below.

We look forward to supporting this group as they begin their journey toward the AOFC Qualification Tournament in January.
