Women's U19 training squad selection update

Floorball New Zealand is pleased to announce the players selected for the Women’s U19 training squad as the next stage of preparation towards the 2027 Asia-Oceania Floorball Confederation (AOFC) Qualification tournament.

The tournament will be held in Hong Kong in January 2027, with New Zealand competing against Hong Kong (China), Singapore and Australia. Three nations will qualify for the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships in Switzerland in May 2027.

Players selected for the training squad were assessed against selection criteria, including skills, fitness, game understanding, attitude and their ability to contribute positively to the team environment.

National Teams Manager Anna Kibblewhite congratulated the selected players and highlighted that the squad represents the next step in the national team pathway.

“Congratulations to all players selected for the Women’s U19 training squad. Being named in this squad recognises the commitment, effort and potential demonstrated throughout the selection process,” said Anna.

“This is the next stage of the pathway. Players will continue to develop and compete as the coaching team works towards selecting the final national squad later this year.”

Selection in the training squad does not guarantee selection in the final team. Players will continue to be assessed throughout the preparation period based on their ongoing performance and development.

“Players selected must continue to challenge themselves by developing their fitness, skills and game understanding while demonstrating the standards expected in a national team environment,” said Anna.

Floorball New Zealand acknowledges that selection decisions can be challenging. Players who were not selected are encouraged to continue their development, remain engaged in the player pathway, and seek feedback from the National Teams Manager if they wish.
