Recruiting Head Coach for New Zealand Women’s National Floorball Team
About the role
We are recruiting for the position of Head Coach, New Zealand Women’s National Floorball Team.
The successful candidate will lead the national programme through the Women’s World Floorball Championships AOFC (Asia-Oceania Floorball Confederation) Qualification tournament, expected to take place in October 2026, and, if successful, to the Women’s World Floorball Championships in Europe in December 2027. The exact dates and host country are yet to be confirmed, but the qualification tournament will be held in one of the Asia-Oceania member nations.
This is a pivotal leadership role and is shaping not only a campaign but the performance culture and tactical identity of women’s floorball in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Key responsibilities
Lead a fair and transparent player selection in line with our selection policy
Set and maintain high expectations for fitness, tactical execution, and professionalism and hold the team to those standards.
Design and deliver a performance programme that maximises limited training windows and drives measurable improvement in preparation for the AOFC Qualification campaign and, if successful, the 2027 Women’s World Floorball Championships.
Build an inclusive and motivated team culture focused on respect, collective success, and accountability where athletes are supported to take ownership of their performance.
Lead performance planning and review processes, including athlete feedback, data-informed analysis, and communication with the athletes.
Provide clear communication and leadership to athletes and collaborate with Floorball New Zealand, assistant coaches, and support staff.
Represent Floorball New Zealand and the national team with integrity and pride.

A strategic, organised approach to planning, goal-setting, and accountability.
A coaching style that balances empathy, clarity, and high expectations.
Experience in high-performance sport .
Term of appointment
The Head Coach will lead the campaign from appointment through the 2026 AOFC Qualification and, if successful, the 2027 Women’s World Floorball Championships.
What we offer
This is a voluntary and unpaid position. However, reasonable expenses, including travel and accommodation, will be covered by Floorball New Zealand.

Please note that candidates must be capable of meeting the requirements of a “Specified Person” under Floorball New Zealand’s Child Safeguarding Policy, including:
Undertaking safeguarding training
Providing consent for police vetting
Returning an acceptable police vetting report
Applications will be reviewed by a panel appointed by Floorball New Zealand. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to interview. The final appointment will be made by the Floorball New Zealand Committee.
